Blue Horse (Upper Arm Tattoo)

Background:
The client is both a farmer and a dog breeder, so she was looking for a tattoo that had a lot of representation for her. Part of it is a memorial for her horse, who had passed away under an apple tree, which was included in the design. The rope represents her cowgirl/farm wife lifestyle, and the broken bone is another memorial for her dog she had to put down. Many nostalgic elements in this eye catching tattoo.

Work in Progress: Koi Fish, Stars, & Cherry Blossoms (Upper Arm Tattoo)

Background:

The client had came to Peter before for a tattoo of his name, so he returned back to get started on his upper arm tattoo. The tattoo includes a Koi fish, stars, and cherry blossoms. The Koi, which is swimming upwards to give good luck and fortune to him.

He plans to come back to have the rest coloured in. More pics to come.

Colourful Compass (Shoulder Tattoo)

Background:
The client came by with an idea to have a compass with crazy funky colours of his choosing. Following his direction, Peter made this happen and applied it on his arm (which was rather large so it required a lot of time to create one that big).

Work in Progress: Geisha (Full Back Tattoo), Part 4

Background:
More work has been done on the full back Geisha. This time around, Yovany shaded in the details on the hand, fabric, hair, and paper umbrella.

Diamond (Shin/Ankle Tattoo)

Background:
This is another addition to the classic theme on Steven, our piercer at Black Line Studio. The shape fit perfectly with the other tattoos Peter had done for him. He also plans to have a ruby done on the other leg in the same place, but facing the other direction. “All part of a master plan” he says. More soon.

Take a look at a few of Steven’s other tattoos that Peter had done for him.

Wood Grains (Chest Tattoo)

Background:
As a first tattoo, the client wanted to have something that related to wood. Ironically her last name, Carpenter, is also the profession she’s going to be. Darwin chose a wood grain and colour that isn’t easily specific to a type of wood, so he chose colours that could be 6-7 diff types.

Work in Progress: Geisha (Forearm Tattoo)

Background:
Yovany has been busy with the Geishas lately. This one was done as a sleeve for a client who originally had flowers on her arm. Yovany drew a freehand design of a geisha with waterfalls coming down from her shoulder into a river, complete with a landscape and cherry blossom trees. He also added a pagoda and Asian inspired scenery behind the geisha.

The outline and some of the colouring are done and will come back to finish it off soon. Stay tuned.

Work in Progress: Geisha (Full Back Tattoo), Part 2

Background:
See Part 1 of the Geisha full back tattoo. This next session involved adding colour and shading to the face and neck, her clothing, and cherry blossoms.

Shark Missile

Background:
Great, fun little tattoo from Peter. This was the original tattoo that Peter did on himself during his apprenticeship, except a lot better now! A neat stylized traditional design with both a shark and a missile hybrid.

Heaven’s Cross Completed

Previously done by Yovany, the original cross with roses and dove was a great piece. The full sleeve is now complete and you can see how much detail was added and how each drawing is tied together.
