Cover Up: Whale to a Flower (Wrist Tattoo)

Background:
The original tattoo from another shop was of a whale, which was small, fading, and wasn’t happy about it. After seeing Peter, a yellow flower was traced then drew on by Peter.

Remember: Just because you have a tattoo doesn’t mean you can’t update it!

Work in Progress: Guns, Dagger, Spider… (Chest Tattoo)

Background:
Kyle is one of our most recent new hires at the shop and was looking to have more tattoos added to his collection. On his chest, Peter drew the outline for: a pair of crossed guns, horse shoe, a moth, roses, a spider, and a dagger through his belly button. More drawings will be added in the open areas and colour soon enough!

From a Dandelion into a Bird (Back Tattoo)

Background:
This interesting piece includes dandelions (at its seeding state) blowing into the air into birds. (Disregard the faded flower in the other corner, that’s not us!)

Matching Lotuses (Ankle tattoo)

Background:
These two lotus tattoos were done by Darwin and Jakob (our guest artist this week) for two cousins. They were looking to experience having their first tattoo together at the same time and in the same spot. To artists, it’s easy to notice the difference of style between the two lotuses – Darwin did the one on the left, Jakob did the right.

Tulips (Hip Tattoo)

Background:
Tattoo of a tulip on the clients hip. No specific reason behind it – just a well done & detailed piece.

Memorial for Dad (Arm Tattoo)

Background:
While we’re on the rose theme in the past few posts, I figured I’d post this one up too.

The design was done by the client’s girlfriend, as a memorial for his father’s passing. Darwin stenciled the drawing and filled in the rest, including adding the banner behind DAD.

When a Cover Up is Necessary: Blossomed

Background:
Not sure what was going on with the previous tattoo. In the first photo you can see a cherry blossom (that actually resembles more of a green clover) done in green ink and scarred from the tattoo artist pressing to deep with the tattoo machine (it’s much more visible in the second photo).

The client drove down five to six hours from Penetanguishene based on a referral from a friend. Darwin did a freehand sketch (in the first photo) then covered up with a proper cherry blossom. Unfortunately there isn’t much that can be done for the scarred tissue, but the end result looks 1000% better!
