Cover Up: Figure of an Elephant (Upper Arm Tattoo)

Background:
This before and after shot is a cover up for a sculpture of an elephant that his grandmother gave him. He brought it in for Yovany to hold on to while he sketched it out on the stencil. The “10″ was added in as a favourite number.

Garden Gnome Continued (Upper Arm Tattoo)

Background:
Previously blogged, this garden gnome tattoo was updated with colour added to the leaves, fruits, and wood in the background.

More to be added to stay tuned.

St. Joseph Tattoo (Back Tattoo)

Background:
This inspiring realistic back piece is of St. Joseph crossing the river – a symbol of overcoming the difficulties of life. An example of how realistic tattoos are Yovany’s specialty.

Tap Dancer (Arm Tattoo)

Background:
This tattoo of a tap dancer was done for a client who had previously finished the lizard eating tattoo with Yovany. As an English fellow, he wanted to continue showing his personalities in his pieces – this time projecting his positive and fun-loving nature.

Testimonials & Feedback: Yovany

(The tattooing) went amazing thank you. I have to say the entirety of the day was excellent and I’m sure you’ve heard this before but Yovany does great work. I also have to say that the entire staff in Toronto helps make the time spent in a chair quite entertaining.

I had my 3rd tattoo piece done today by Yovany. I just wanted to write a quick note to say that I enjoyed my experience (other then the pain). He is a great artist and a talented tattooer. I plan on getting more work done by him in the near future.

Just like to let you know that I’ve recommended Yovany and your shop to friends and family.

Have a good summer.

A Tiger w/ Long Blonde Hair (Arm Tattoo)

Background:
Steven, our piercer, added another piece to his long list of tattoos, including this interesting drawing that he’s liked for a long time. As the title states, it’s a tiger with long blonde hair, complete with exceptional whisker details and noticeably blonde hair in long pig tails.

Flock of Angels at Black Line Studio

On Tuesday, something weird happened.

For some reason, the three tattoo artists we had in that day all happened to be working on wings. The three clients didn’t know each other previously either. We thought it was blog worthy so we took a few shots of Peter, Darwin, and Yovany – each creating their own version of angel wings.

Elvis Found! (Thigh Tattoo)

Background:
Kyle, one of the staff at Black Line Studio, added another piece to his collection, this time his first portrait piece. In his quest to cover his entire body, he went to Yovany (who specializes on portraits) for a realistic Elvis tattoo on his thigh. Kyle’s grandmother was a big time Elvis fan and put this piece on his leg for her. On the other leg, he plans to add another portrait to match.

The Getaway (Half Sleeve Tattoo)

Background:
This sleeve by Yovany featured a shark attack style plane, flying away from a dark forest. The plane symbolized his escape from the negative aspects of his life, represented by the dark forest. Great use of colours.

Maple Leaf (Back Tattoo)

Background:
After previously posting Yovany’s maple leaf tattoo, we received a lot of good feedback on it.

More work was done on it, finishing up the two lions above it. The maple leaf also has healed and looks great underneath it! (Note: the letters were not done by Yovany)
